We’re looking for a Chairperson with a passion for the Tyne

Tyne Rivers Trust is the only environmental charity dedicated to looking after the amazing River Tyne. The work that we do is increasingly vital to tackle the effects of climate change and support the wildlife and habitat of our rivers.

We work with volunteers and communities within the Tyne catchment to carry out conservation and habitat improvement projects so that the Tyne and its tributaries are healthy, biodiverse and an asset for present and future generations.

As part of our succession planning, we are seeking a new Chairperson to join us at an important time. As the environment comes to the forefront of people’s minds, we need an individual to work with our current Board (who bring experience from diverse sectors) and Director to raise the profile and deliver the strategy.

This is a voluntary role that provides its own rewards including the opportunity to lead a dynamic and dedicated team while making a positive difference to the environment. We believe that a better river equals a better region and better life for everyone.

The Board of Trustees is keen to receive applications from enthusiastic and committed individuals who have the energy to take this role forward.
