We deliver conservation, education and habitat improvement programmes throughout the Tyne catchment. We work to promote and encourage better understanding of the River Tyne and the issues affecting the catchment. Some of this work we deliver through specific funded projects and some we fundraise for continuously.
The Trust has developed programmes to identify and address specific issues, eg silt and erosion reduction; invasive species management; education programmes; development and engagement of local communities; influencing key decision-makers whilst constantly monitoring the river environment.
To continue to promote and improve the health of the river we need the support of local communities and businesses; people are essential to the ongoing recovery of the catchment from its industrial past and to ensure that it remains healthy in the future.
