How Is Your Land Performing – Farmers’ Workshop
Tyne Rivers Trust invites farmers to a free workshop to learn about a grassland monitoring tool which gives soil a voice and can identify if your land is regenerating, hear from a local farmer who has used the tool to learn more about the land he farms and how it has sparked changed.
Gain an insight to the South Tyne Holistic Land Management project delivered by Tyne Rivers Trust, who has supported farmers and land managers to gain data on their soil health, infiltration rates, and forage quality and find out what support there is to help you lower inputs and improve farm profitability.
Hear from the following speakers and then have an opportunity to discuss more over supper:
Danielle Anderson-Hire (Tyne Rivers Trust): South Tyne Holistic Land Management project (funded by Northumbrian Water) Farmers know where the wet patches lie or where the less productive areas are on their farm… but why is this happening? and could it be improved?
Christopher Cooke (3LM – UK Savory Network Hub): The global grassland decision making tool, Ecological Outcome Verification, identifying how your land is regenerating (Findings from the South Tyne Holistic Land Management project).
Jamie Murray (Sewingshields Farm): How Ecological Outcome Verification was used to support land management change.
Tom Dillon (Regenerate Outcomes): Working with farmers to reduce input costs, improving soil, plant and animal health, and maximising farm profitability.
