FISHING REPORT: 6 JULY 2022

The South Tyne has had some extra water which did not lift the Tyne much at all, however fish responded to the freshets with around 1,000 upstream counts in two days. The count for July up to 9.00 on the 6 th  of July was 1,999. This was a good response to changes in flow and temperature.

The counter has recorded around 6,400 for the year to date.

Rods able to fish these short duration South Tyne freshets caught a small number of fresh fish to 18lb. Fish are well spread throughout the rivers although decent spates are needed.

The daily mean temperature at Bywell on the 5 th of July was 16.89C
