Sophia Stovall is a senior leader in cultural development and philanthropy, with over 15 years of experience driving innovation and public engagement across the UK’s heritage and charitable sectors. She joined Tyne Rivers Trust as Chief Executive Officer on 1st September 2025, bringing a wealth of strategic expertise and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship.

Her career spans leadership roles at English Heritage, North East Museums (previously Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums TWAM) and Durham Cathedral, where she led income growth, built lasting partnerships, and developed sustainable infrastructure to protect some of the North East’s most valued cultural and environmental assets. Prior to relocating to County Durham, Sophia began her career at the Art Fund in London.
