Volunteer Newsletter 28th July 2017

Dear Volunteers,

Thank you everyone for a lovely couple of volunteer tasks this week, we have had two great days with lots of volunteers and cleared massive amounts of Balsam up at Mohope at the top of the West Allen. There is still more to do and we have arranged with the landowners to return next week to finish it off .

Its that time of year again when we will be electrofishing various sites over the next few weeks, if you would like to come along and help us do this then please drop me an email and I can tell you more about it.

Next volunteer tasks are:

Tuesday 1st August– Mohope- balsam pulling- 10.30am or meet at the TRT office at 9.40am (if you would like to meet us at Mohope please email me and I will send you the address)
Monday 7th August– 10.30am-  Balsam pulling- location to be confirmed
Tuesday 8th August– 8.30pm- Gibside- Bat walk- if you would like to come along to this bat evening kindly organised by the Head Ranger at Gibside, Helen Macdonald, then please let me know as spaces are limited.
Friday 11th August– We hope to be tackling Japanese Knotweed and possibly Giant Hogweed this day, if you have a pesticide spraying licence and you are available to help please let me know.
Thanks again everyone for a fab week, and thank you to today’s volunteers for my lovely birthday card!

Have a good weekend!

Best Wishes,

Simone Price
