Description
The River Rede is the major tributary of the River North Tyne flowing from Carter Bar through the wilds of northern Northumberland, the border country and National Park before finally reaching the North Tyne at Redesmouth. This is a fantastic, and rare, opportunity to fish some of the catchment’s best water on a day ticket. The Stobbs to Bagraw beat has a great selection of easy wide open water to challenging overhanging trees – ideal to get you started on trout fishing, and to keep you interested!

Downstream limit – Bagraw Farm, marker post on left bank
Where to Park – On the left, beyond Stobbs bridge, on hardcore track. Please do not park on layby before Stobbs bridge (see diagram).
Other information – Refreshments available at Camien Café in 
Rochester. Wading difficulty is moderate as the water is fairly shallow.
Directions – Take A68 north past Redesdale Arms north of Otterburn. Take farm track on the left shortly after Brigantium brown tourist sign. Follow track down to bridge.
