NORTH EAST INVASIVES STRATEGY

We have been working alongside Tweed, Northumberland, Wear, and Tees Rivers Trusts, Newcastle University, Environment Agency and ERIC NE to reduce the threat of invasive non-native species in our region. As one of the few regions left relatively unimpacted by invasive species, it is vital that we prevent their further spread. A new rapid reporting and response system has been put in place so that your records are seen and managed more rapidly. We also have a new interactive map to show you where records are within our region, this page also includes lots of useful information about high risk invasive species. You can use our My Tyne app or iRecord to log your sightings of any invasive non-native species.
