Tyne Rivers Trust > About > News > Volunteer > Volunteer Newletter 6th April

Dear Volunteers,
I can’t believe it is Friday again tomorrow! Where has the week gone again!?
Just a reminder of upcoming tasks…

Sunday 9th April- 10am- Derwenthaugh Park (Winlaton Mill car park)- we will be finishing off work from previous task days. I don’t think this will be a full day, hopefully nice weather!
Thursday 13th April- 10.30am- Woolsington Ponds This task is part of the Ouseburn River Restoration Project and we will be re-seeding and planting! We would love as much help as possible and hopefully we will be joined by local residents and Lesley from Groundwork for this task!
Tuesday 18th April -10am- Jesmond Dene This will be a joint task on the Ouseburn with Newcastle Volunteer Rangers, we always have a great day here!
Wednesday 26th April- Kielder hatchery visit- 10am- 12.30am. Richard Bond will be welcoming us to the Visitors Centre and describing what the Environment Agency do here. We will have a tour of the hatchery and a walk up to the smolt trap, Richard will then tell us all about the freshwater pearl mussels. If you would like to go let me know!

Thanks everyone! I will probably add another two or three task days in during April, I will let you know what they are! I will also confirm a date for a Geomorphology talk/ field trip with Malcolm Newson soon. Thank you to those who helped with tree planting this week I think we did a fabulous job!!

Have a lovely Friday and hopefully sunny weekend! Might see you Sunday!

Best Wishes,

Simone Price
