Product Description

The South Tyne is a natural spate river, flowing through an area of outstanding natural beauty. This is a wonderful opportunity to fish for wild brown trout in a beautiful part of the North Pennines.

Length of Fishing – 0.6 km

Species present – Brown Trout and occasional migratory fish

Dates available –  22nd March—15th August

Rules – Trout fly and light spinning tackle. Catch and release only. No dogs or picnics.

Banks included – Left bank only

Maximum no. of anglers – 2

Upstream limit – Boundary marker downstream of the Redburn

Downstream limit – Approximately 600m downstream to boundary marker

Where to Park – Access via Towhouse/Redburn. Park on grass verge. Do not take cars under railway bridge. Right of way through gate to beat by foot only. Postcode: NE47 7DT.

Other information – Moderate (some bank fishing), do not fish from steep rocks.

Directions – Take the Melkridge turning from the A69 two miles east of Haltwhistle. After 50m bear left and continue for 200m then take the first left to Towhouse Green.
